How to Write a Company Profile That Actually Wins Tenders in Zimbabwe

Tenders & Growth11 April 2026 6 min read

Most company profiles are decorative. A profile that wins work answers the evaluator's questions in order, with evidence. Here is the structure that scores.

What an evaluator is looking for

Evaluators score capability, compliance and credibility. They are scanning for evidence that you exist legally, that you have done this work before, and that you can deliver at the required scale.

Anything that does not serve one of those three questions is decoration and should be cut.

The structure that works

Lead with a one-paragraph statement of what you do and for whom. Follow with services, evidence, team and compliance. Keep it to eight to twelve pages.

Put your registration number, BP number and tax clearance status on the compliance page. Evaluators look for them and reward the profiles that make them easy to find.

  • Cover page with legal name, registration number and contact details
  • Who we are — one tight paragraph, no filler
  • Services and capability, expressed as outcomes for clients
  • Track record with named projects, dates and scope
  • Key personnel with roles and qualifications
  • Compliance page: incorporation, ZIMRA, NSSA, PRAZ, clearance

Evidence beats adjectives

'We are a leading provider of quality solutions' scores nothing. 'Supplied and installed 42 solar geysers for a Harare property manager between March and July 2025' scores well.

If you are new, use founder experience and pilot work honestly. Never invent references — a single verification call ends your credibility with that buyer permanently.

Keeping it current

Refresh your profile every six months, or immediately after a significant project. An outdated clearance date on page 11 undermines the whole document.

Amashad produces professional company profiles for $50, built around the compliance evidence buyers ask for.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a company profile be?

Eight to twelve pages for most bids, unless the tender specifies otherwise.

Do I need a designer?

Clean, consistent formatting matters more than elaborate design. Legibility scores; clutter does not.

Should I include prices?

No. Pricing belongs in the bid document, not the profile.
